BOS Improves the Passenger Experience with Visual Communications

Boston Logan International Airport, operated by Massport, needed to reduce audio and visual clutter across its sprawling facility. Travelers were encountering a mix of static signage, digital advertising, live TV, paging, and multiple flight information systems from different vendors, making wayfinding and communication harder than necessary.

Poppulo, then identified in the case study as Four Winds Interactive, provided the digital signage software for Boston Logan’s Digital Passenger Information Program. Working with Art of Context, BOS piloted eight signs in July 2012 and added 28 more screens in August 2013 to help travelers find gates, concourses, baggage carousels, restaurants, and other locations, improving passenger information and satisfaction.
