A Deeper Look Into Norwegian Cruise Line’s Fleet-Wide Digital Signage Network

Norwegian Cruise Line, a global cruise operator with a fleet of 20 ships, needed a better way to manage thousands of digital screens across its vessels. The company used digital signage for wayfinding, dining, activities, excursions, staff communication, multilingual updates, and promotions, but content deployment was time-consuming and had to account for connectivity limits, regional data, and fleet-wide consistency.

To address this, Norwegian Cruise Line migrated from Poppulo’s legacy digital signage product to its cloud-based platform, along with hardware upgrades and new templates. With Poppulo, the cruise line centralized content management and real-time updates, reduced fleet-wide template update time by 75%, and drove measurable usage from January through June 2025, including over 6,700 dining reservations, 11,500 entertainment reservations, and 5,400 excursions booked from digital signs, which accounted for about 40% of onboard reservations.
