Taco Bell, led by CIO Greg Fancher, wanted to strengthen internal communications and employee engagement—believing customer experience cannot exceed team member experience. To better connect teams and surface frontline priorities, the company piloted the POPin mobile crowd‑solving app across its IT and call center groups.
Using POPin, employees submitted and voted on ideas that led to brown‑bag information sessions, job‑shadowing programs and improved training; staff also log questions into the app ahead of town halls so leaders address the topics that matter most. POPin’s reporting (e.g., 794 total activity, 665 votes, 85 comments) helped surface top priorities quickly, resulting in stronger engagement, clearer leadership focus and more effective company meetings.
