Zeiss Microscopy, part of the ZEISS group, needed to rework its global procurement and supply chain processes to improve speed, consistency, and process security across multiple locations and autonomous business units. The company partnered with pool4tool and used its procurement and supplier collaboration platform to connect suppliers, purchasing, and internal SAP systems.

pool4tool implemented a multi-phase solution covering global sourcing logistics, goods receipt, eSourcing, and strategic supply base management. Purchase orders and confirmations were automated through the portal and EDI, WebEDI improved delivery schedules and goods receipt, and VMI enabled better inventory and production planning. The result was more efficient end-to-end processes, shorter processing times, lower order processing costs, real-time order tracking, and around 30% of European ordering volume handled through pool4tool.
