A Pomeroy Case Study
The Second Largest Independent Financial Advisor Network — supporting over 9,500 independent financial professionals and more than 600 financial institutions — faced a complex post‑acquisition IT challenge: six acquired businesses with siloed call centers, disparate telephone systems and telco contracts, geographically dispersed data centers, incompatible call center applications, and no unified disaster recovery or communications platform. Pomeroy, which had provided infrastructure remediation and remote monitoring of the client’s voice and data networks since 2013, was engaged to deliver comprehensive IT infrastructure services including data center design and implementation, enterprise networking, integrated communications, and 24/7 network security monitoring.
Pomeroy designed and implemented two identical 14‑cabinet primary and disaster‑recovery data centers, deployed unified communications with a shared call manager, installed Cisco ASA‑5585 firewalls and Firepower services, configured virtual domains for per‑company separation, and provided dual‑WAN redundancy plus 24/7 security monitoring. The consolidation and new architecture reduced IT operating costs by 30% and telecom costs by 50%, improved availability, reliability and security, and gave the client the agility and scalability to rapidly integrate future acquisitions.
