Global Pharma & Manufacturing Company, a northeastern U.S.–based pharmaceutical and manufacturing firm supporting about 20,000 end-users across 35 North American sites, faced inefficient dedicated desktop staffing and OEM procurement constraints that caused delivery delays, limited product configuration options, and late-lease penalties. The customer had an existing relationship with Pomeroy and was evaluating alternatives to its North American onsite desktop support and OEM hardware/software procurement to drive cost, productivity and process improvements.
Pomeroy implemented an SLA-based shared staffing model, outsourced and integrated the service desk with desktop support, and took over procurement, logistics, configuration and asset recovery with a vendor-neutral sourcing approach and dedicated inventory staging. As a result Pomeroy helped the client achieve over $13 million in savings (including ~$200,000 from improved order/install and asset recovery), reduced order-to-install time by 60% (from 10 to 4 days), cut onsite PC install time by 33%, eliminated late lease penalties and established five-year SLA innovation goals.
