Consumer Products Company - Customer Case Study

Consumer Products Company, a Fortune 50 maker of familiar household brands with nearly $85 billion in sales, needed a secure, standardized way to retire and repurpose thousands of PCs, laptops, smart devices and peripherals across 30+ U.S. sites. To address risks to proprietary data, inconsistent local disposal practices, environmental concerns and rising costs, the Consumer Products Company engaged Pomeroy to manage its U.S.-based asset disposition program, including Logistics Center operations, inventory management and brokerage remarketing.

Pomeroy implemented a flexible, standardized disposition process—documenting, receiving, evaluating, securely wiping or repurposing assets, handling logistics (palletizing, labeling, pickup/delivery), managing customer-owned inventory via a portal and remarketing/recycling through its Brokerage Management System. The program returned $9.85 million by recycling over 84,000 devices, redeployed more than 34,000 serviceable units valued at $17.1 million, achieved 100% compliance with disposition, data-security and zero-landfill targets, and delivered 100% client satisfaction over ten years.
