SIBUR creates workforce collaboration suite using Polycom content and video technologies

SIBUR, Russia’s leading gas processing and petrochemicals company with about 28,000 employees across 26 sites, needed a fault‑tolerant, secure and easy‑to‑use voice, content and video collaboration platform as part of its digital transformation. The IT team’s priorities were to increase daily video collaboration capacity, equip meeting rooms and most employee desktops, and make video communication simple enough to drive adoption across geographically dispersed operations.

Polycom, together with integrators Asteros and Delta Telecom, deployed a multifunctional suite including Polycom RealPresence OTX Studio and redundant RealPresence Collaboration Servers, video‑equipping 17 rooms (including two immersive telepresence halls) and rolling out Skype for Business to 70–80% of desktops. The upgrade doubled the maximum simultaneous video sessions, tripled distributed server capacity, improved cross‑site interaction and reliability, and delivered a secure, scalable collaboration environment for internal and external meetings.
