A PolicyMap Case Study
Seton Hall University’s School of Health and Medical Sciences wanted to help students build stronger analytical and real-time decision-making skills for the health industry. To support that goal, the university turned to PolicyMap, using its mapping and data visualization platform in a “Managing Community and Population Health Systems” course.
PolicyMap was integrated into a new assignment where students identified at-risk populations, developed risk segmentation characteristics, and completed risk stratification. The solution helped students better assess risk factors and access to treatment options, strengthening their ability to plan for, prevent, and manage at-risk health conditions. While no numeric results were provided, Dr. John Buschman noted that student research using PolicyMap would improve subject knowledge, digital literacy, and critical analysis skills.
