New York University - Customer Case Study

New York University (NYU) needed an accessible, simple GIS tool for students who had little or no GIS experience. Andrew Battista, NYU’s Librarian for Geospatial Information Systems, wanted a way for students to conduct socio-demographic analysis without learning new software, so the university turned to PolicyMap.

With PolicyMap, NYU students could quickly find and visualize datasets in a more accessible location than the original source, with point-based data appearing instantly on a map. This helped the Food Studies program and the Wagner School of Public Policy use USDA and election data more easily, and Battista noted that students rarely had problems using the site thanks to PolicyMap’s intuitive platform.
