Neighborhood Preservation, Inc. - Customer Case Study

Neighborhood Preservation, Inc. (NPI), a nonprofit organization in Memphis, needed a better way to fight blight across local neighborhoods. Its old property hub was a clunky database that required substantial computer knowledge and had no mapping capability, making it difficult for users to access or visualize important property and community data. NPI turned to PolicyMap for a more intuitive, data-driven solution.

Using PolicyMap, NPI created a custom website called Memphis Fights Blight that combines locally sourced data with PolicyMap’s public indicators and mapping tools. The result is a single, easy-to-use portal for community organizations to assess parcel-level conditions, coordinate action, and make informed decisions to reduce vacancy, litter, and illegal dumping. The platform has supported more than 400 users in Memphis.
