Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) needed a way to make the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) grant process more transparent for applicants and to help them better understand how projects would be evaluated. CHFA turned to PolicyMap, using its widget to support quick, on-the-fly location research and simplify the application process.

With a custom PolicyMap widget, CHFA lets prospective LIHTC applicants enter a project address and receive a rating based on CHFA’s analysis of the site. This has streamlined the process for both applicants and CHFA by helping applicants tailor submissions to CHFA’s scoring criteria, while also making the agency’s review more efficient and transparent.
