Bikeshare Hawaii - Customer Case Study

Bikeshare Hawaii, a nonprofit bikeshare service operating as Biki, needed a better way to identify the communities it serves and focus outreach for a new low-income fare program. Using PolicyMap, the team sought to target communications and build partnerships that would support greater community well-being across the Biki bikeshare zone.

With PolicyMap data and maps, Bikeshare Hawaii used indicators such as SNAP and TANF recipients and eligible residents to pinpoint neighborhoods eligible for the reduced fare. PolicyMap also helped the organization connect with food pantries, community health centers, and public benefits processing centers, enabling low-income residents to save on transportation and redirect those savings toward essentials like food, rent, and medical needs.
