Case Study: Baylor University helps students engage Waco community with PolicyMap

Baylor University used PolicyMap to support a community-focused classroom project led by Business Librarian Carol Schuetz. She challenged her Business Communication students to help the Waco Diaper Bank increase inventory and better connect with local families in need.

Using PolicyMap, the students identified Waco areas with high poverty rates and then mapped nearby supermarkets with the data uploader. This allowed the Diaper Bank to negotiate a diaper donation program with stores—one pack donated for every pack sold—helping create a practical, data-driven way to boost inventory and community support.
