Case Study: CEA achieves safer lone worker protection with Pole Star Indoor Positioning

A Pole Star Indoor Positioning Case Study

Preview of the CEA Case Study

CEA protects lone workers with real-time indoor location and 3-way alerting from Pole Star Indoor Positioning

The CEA, in partnership with Eiffage Energy Systems, faced the challenge of protecting lone workers operating in high-risk, sensitive industrial sites. They needed a solution that provided continuous visibility and rapid alerting for incidents like falls, while ensuring all data remained on a closed, on-premise network with no public cloud dependency. To meet this need, they worked with vendor Pole Star Indoor Positioning to implement a smartphone-based safety solution.

Pole Star deployed its NAO® Mobile SDK to create a lone worker protection system featuring real-time indoor location tracking and three types of geolocated alerts: manual panic button, immobility detection, and automatic man-down fall detection. The fully on-premise solution, integrated with WaryMe for alert management, significantly improved worker safety and reduced reaction times during incidents. This provided CEA with robust protection for isolated personnel and ensured compliance with strict data governance and security rules for restricted-access sites.
