City of Port St. Lucie doubles Citizen Summit attendance and boosts resident satisfaction with Polco

The City of Port St. Lucie sought to improve resident satisfaction and transform its strategic planning process by better incorporating community feedback. To achieve this, the city partnered with Polco and utilized its National Community Survey (The NCS) service to gather comprehensive resident opinions.

By implementing Polco's NCS and supplementing it with an innovative Annual Citizen Summit event, the city established a three-step process to design, implement, and evaluate a new resident-informed strategic plan. As a result of working with Polco, Port St. Lucie dramatically increased citizen engagement, saw attendance at its summit double to over 600 people, and significantly improved resident satisfaction scores. These efforts were recognized with a 2020 Voice of the People Award for Transformation in Community Engagement.
