City of Novi sees 35% survey response rate with Polco

The City of Novi faced the challenge of understanding employee sentiment to improve retention and create a more attractive work environment, especially during a national staffing shortage. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Polco to implement its National Employee Survey (NES) service.

Using Polco's NES, Novi gathered insights from its staff, which revealed high job satisfaction in many areas but also identified specific opportunities for improvement in human resources and benefits. These results prompted the city to host employee focus groups and enact changes, such as increasing retirement contributions, leading to enhanced retention strategies. Based on this success, Novi plans to conduct the survey with Polco every two years to track its progress.
