City of Fate boosts public safety with Polco as 97% of residents feel safe during the day

The City of Fate, Texas, sought to improve public safety and resident confidence through its community policing programs. To measure its progress and gather actionable feedback from residents, Fate worked with Polco to conduct The National Community Survey (The NCS).

Using Polco's service, the City was able to validate the success of its unique approach, which included cross-training all officers as police, firefighters, and EMTs. This strategy, combined with high visibility and an educational focus on stops, resulted in a 2021 Voice of the People Award for Excellence in Safety. The measurable impact was confirmed by Polco's survey data, showing 97% of residents felt safe during the day and 92% reported a high overall sense of safety.
