Spansion, a global leader in flash-memory–based embedded systems, needed to raise software quality for automotive projects and achieve SPICE Levels 2–3. Its development relied on Excel/Word, SVN and Bugzilla, which created duplicate processes, dozens of documents per small project, poor traceability and time-consuming manual work.

Spansion selected Polarion for its price–quality ratio and technical fit, deploying a unified ALM platform (requirements, change and test management) integrated with VectorCAST and Sparx EA. The quick rollout and configurable workflows eliminated information islands, cut traceability effort from ~20–25% of project time to 5–10%, sped approvals and collaboration, and helped the company reach SPICE Level 2 while scaling to additional users and locations.
