Phoenix Contact Electronics GmbH, part of the global PHOENIX CONTACT group, was hampered by a fragmented software toolchain (Office, DOORS, Serena, PVCS, Bugzilla) that produced decentralized documents, poor traceability, late test involvement and confusion over which requirements were implemented. To meet SPICE-oriented quality goals and improve collaboration across locations, the company needed a single web-based ALM/requirements solution that supported end-to-end traceability and a transparent workflow.

After evaluating several vendors, Phoenix Contact adopted Polarion ALM and Polarion REQUIREMENTS following a proof-of-concept, pilot rollout and targeted training. Polarion centralized artifacts and document versions, enabled single data entry and earlier test participation, and supported IEC 61508 compliance. Today the platform manages 250 projects for 400 users across three sites, delivering clearer traceability, better reporting and measurable productivity improvements.
