Mars Standardizes Operational Knowledge Across the Globe

Mars, a global food company with 130,000 associates across divisions like confectionery and pet care, faced fragmentation of knowledge across paper documents and many systems. To support its Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) learning pillar, the company adopted Poka as the corporate standard connected‑worker solution and has rolled it out to 170 of 454 sites since starting the journey in 2018.

Poka’s plant‑mirrored database, QR‑code access on factory iPads, and the ability to duplicate and convert long SOPs into short video modules simplified sharing, translation, and governance of work instructions. As a result, Mars has built a library of 7,000 digital work instructions with more than 80,000 views, is deploying 1–2 sites per week with improved site up‑times, reduced content creation time, and faster speed to competency using Poka.
