A Poka Case Study

Preview of the L’Oreal Case Study

L'Oréal Gains a 9% Higher OEE With New Hires Trained Using Poka

L’Oreal Canada faced fragmented, paper-based training records and limited visibility into new hires’ progress on a large production site. To standardize training and increase traceability, they implemented Poka in early 2018, using Poka’s Work Instructions and Skills Management features to move away from manual HR-led processes and decentralized knowledge.

Poka centralized documents and skills tracking, scaling the number of tracked skills from 40 to 259 (a 547% increase), raising training completion from 50% to 60%, and enabling the onboarding of 26 new employees in 2020. Poka’s dashboards gave L’Oreal real-time KPI visibility and autonomy for workers and managers, and the site saw a sustained 2.5% month-over-month improvement in OEE while avoiding the historical productivity drop associated with onboarding.
