Harrods, a prestigious London department store, faced the challenge of helping customers navigate its vast, complex, and historic building. With a layout and product offerings that change frequently, they needed a digital solution to improve the in-store experience. Harrods partnered with vendor Pointr to integrate mapping and navigation into its Mobile Store Guide application.

Pointr provided its Deep Location platform, using beacon technology to enable highly accurate indoor positioning and turn-by-turn navigation within the Harrods app. The solution included automated tools to keep product and map data current. This led to a 60% year-over-year increase in app downloads, a 22% increase in monthly users, and greatly improved customer satisfaction. Pointr's work with Harrods was recognized with a 'Best use of technology in-store' award in 2019.
