Swedish Medical Center faced a complex challenge in a $1.1 billion construction project that required moving numerous clinics and labs with intricate interdependencies, putting its November 2016 deadline at risk. The medical center engaged Point B to help with planning, design, and construction phasing to orchestrate these moves and keep the project on schedule.
Point B implemented a Lean Pull Planning technique to work backward from the target date, creating a new schedule that unraveled project dependencies. The vendor also developed a custom Smart Sheet reporting tool to monitor progress and assign task ownership. As a result of this collaborative solution, Point B enabled Swedish Medical Center to identify and resolve critical issues and successfully meet its project deadline.
