Using Cutting-Edge Design and Construction to Meet Millennials’ Needs

Point B Property Development partnered with the Summit Development Group to address the need for refreshed, appealing office space in Portland's John's Landing neighborhood. The challenge was to create space that would attract a creative workforce and honor local residents' low-carbon lifestyle, preventing them from having to commute outside their community for work.

The solution was a joint venture to develop HoodWORKS, a mixed-use building using cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction. Point B designed the space with features like bike lockers and a rooftop deck to meet millennial work preferences. The 17,000-square-foot project transformed an old site into modern office and retail space, aiming to invigorate the neighborhood with new commerce and business while utilizing cutting-edge, efficient building techniques.
