6Gb/s 3ware® Controller Cards Running on Pogo Linux Servers Support More Cloud-Based Customers in Its Data Center

Blue Box Group, a Ruby on Rails web hosting provider, faced increasing customer demands for faster data transfers, which required an upgrade to their existing 3Gb/s storage infrastructure. The company partnered with vendor Pogo Linux to find a solution that would improve IO performance without sacrificing the uniformity of their trusted RAID management software.

Pogo Linux recommended and implemented a solution using LSI 3ware 9750 6Gb/s RAID controllers installed on new Pogo Linux Iris servers. This upgrade more than doubled data transfer rates, allowing Blue Box Group to support more customers. Crucially, the new controllers were compatible with their existing management tools, eliminating the need for retraining and protecting their current IT investment while providing a path for future growth.
