How Albertsons Grew Its Choice Beef Sales with Straightxt

Albertsons, a food and drug retailer with over 600 locations, aimed to increase sales of Choice Beef and chose a sweepstakes-plus-electronic-coupons approach. They partnered with Pocketstop RedFlag, leveraging its Straightxt/Text Marketing platform to run the promotion and manage entries and coupon delivery.

Pocketstop RedFlag implemented a full-service, multi-step sweepstakes that required ZIP-code collection via interactive response, used a “Restriction Message” to limit one entry per day, and automatically delivered five additional coupons over the three-month campaign. The campaign distributed over 36,000 coupons and achieved a 12% redemption rate for text coupons (versus 5% for email and on-package), meeting the campaign’s goals.
