Case Study: United Energy and Multinet Gas achieve 3.5× release throughput and save 30 hours/week with Plutora

A Plutora Case Study

Preview of the United Energy and Multinet Gas Case Study

Two Australian energy companies improve project and portfolio delivery by using Plutora’s

United Energy & Multinet Gas (UE & MG), which supplies energy to more than 640,000 customers in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, needed to manage a complex non‑production landscape of about 30 core test environments supporting $30–40M of annual IT projects and releases occurring up to ten times daily. The high rate of change, tight delivery deadlines, interdependent releases and reliance on spreadsheets made it difficult to predict environment conflicts, meet regulatory timelines and ensure consistent quality.

UE & MG implemented Plutora’s Enterprise Test Environment and Release Management to gain real‑time visibility, plan and remediate environment contentions, and synchronize code and configuration between production and test. The rollout eliminated spreadsheet dependency, improved predictability and quality, and delivered measurable gains: environment use rose 25%, release throughput increased 3.5×, teams saved about 30 hours per week, and stakeholders now have real‑time environment availability.
