FIS, a global financial technology leader, launched its Future Forward transformation in 2023 to improve operational performance and profitability. The Capital Markets team needed to build multiskilled, high-performance technologist teams and required more than ad-hoc training—asking for a way to assess and close skills gaps and provide a structured, continuous learning path aligned to strategic goals.

Partnering with Pluralsight, FIS benchmarked skills, created 28 custom Role IQs, personalized learning paths, ran quarterly skill blitzes, and dedicated two hours per week for learning with strong executive support. The initiative produced measurable results—1,500+ skill-ups in 2023 and a reduction in novice-level employees from 47% to 13%—and helped embed a culture of continuous learning that is spreading across the organization.
