Case Study: Miami Dade College achieves a certified cloud talent pipeline with Pluralsight

Upskilling students to meet cloud talent needs

Miami Dade College (MDC), a large, diverse public college in Miami with eight campuses, faced the challenge of rapidly preparing students for high-demand cloud jobs. The college needed to move beyond theory to give students and faculty practical, certified cloud skills that match employer needs and overcome the experience catch‑22 that blocks entry‑level hires.

MDC partnered with AWS and A Cloud Guru to upskill faculty and students—faculty earned AWS certifications, ACG courses and hands‑on labs became part of coursework, and certification exams serve as final assessments. The program also created an employer internship pipeline with grant‑supported salaries. In 18 months the college launched three cloud courses across campuses, helped more than 100 students earn AWS certifications, and produced strong industry placements and positive student outcomes.
