A Pluralsight Case Study
Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy with more than 36,000 people in over 70 countries, faced a crossroads: outdated upskilling methods (manual tracking and spreadsheets) were limiting employees’ digital fluency and the company’s ability to deliver customer value and improve quality of life. They needed a scalable, people-first solution to boost tech proficiency, track skills reliably, and empower staff to move into more technical roles.
Arcadis launched a three-month Citizen Development program and adopted Pluralsight Skills—leveraging expert-led content, hands-on learning, and Skill IQ/Role IQ assessments—to democratize technology across the organization. The initiative earned executive buy-in, shifted the conversation from cost to scale, and delivered measurable impact: a 40% increase in tech proficiency, fewer security vulnerabilities and support tickets, better skill measurement, higher personal productivity, and freed resources for strategic and ecological priorities, with plans to expand the program to thousands more participants.
