Chalo, a free bus tracking and mobile ticketing app serving commuters across India, wanted to improve repeat bookings, first-ride conversions, and premium pass adoption without relying heavily on push notifications or custom engineering work. To support these goals, the team used Plotline to launch in-app campaigns that could guide users toward key actions inside the app.
With Plotline, Chalo rolled out more than 30 campaigns in six months, including a bottomsheet for welcome offers, a Spotlight for new-user onboarding, and a native widget promoting premium passes. These campaigns drove a 14% uplift in top-of-funnel unique CTR for welcome offers, a 31% increase in users booking their first ride after the Spotlight, and a 14% uplift in TOFU for premium pass bookings, helping improve retention and lifetime value.
