UltiSat keeps its satellite connections reliable and efficient with Scrutinizer network traffic analytics system

UltiSat Inc., a satellite and communications provider supporting VSAT networks in more than 100 countries, needed a better way to prove contracted throughputs, keep traffic fast and reliable, and report precise bandwidth usage for a wide range of customers and remote sites. To meet these demands, UltiSat turned to Plixer’s Scrutinizer network traffic analytics system for deeper visibility than its existing monitoring tools could provide.

Plixer implemented Scrutinizer using NetFlow data to monitor traffic across UltiSat’s global satellite infrastructure, including separate servers for the sensor network and higher-traffic customer networks. The solution helped UltiSat create exception reports, spot abnormal or unauthorized traffic, quickly identify and resolve issues, and produce accurate monthly bandwidth reports for customers. As a result, Plixer helped UltiSat save staff time and money while improving service quality and confirming that throughput commitments were being met.
