UK Government delivers ventilators in 38 days with Plexus Corp.

The UK Government faced the urgent challenge of rapidly increasing the number of ventilators available to the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic. They tasked a consortium of manufacturers, including vendor Plexus Corp., to design and produce a new ventilator in an unprecedented timeframe.

Plexus leveraged its global design and manufacturing expertise to accelerate the development of the Zephyr Plus Ventilator. The company delivered the first working prototype in just 38 days and completed the transition to volume production 22 days later. While the full manufacturing run was ultimately not required due to a decrease in COVID-19 cases, Plexus successfully proved its ability to execute a complex, safety-critical medical product from concept to production-ready in less than three months.
