The Shyft Group, a North American leader in specialty vehicle manufacturing, needed to bring a commercial-grade electric delivery truck to market quickly while managing complex prototype development and manufacturing requirements. To support this effort, the company turned to Plex Systems and its Plex Enterprise Resource Planning platform to replace spreadsheets and disconnected communication with a real-time system.

Plex Systems helped The Shyft Group stand up its Plex environment in just two weeks, covering purchasing, pricing, parts, receiving, accounts payable, and inventory. The result was a faster path from concept to working vehicle—just nine months—and a smoother transition from prototype to production. The new fully electrified trucks offer over 220 miles of range, and the program has already secured an initial order for 150 vehicles.
