Prometeon Tyre Group, a Milan-based tire manufacturer spun out of Pirelli, produces tires for industrial, transport, agricultural and OTR markets. The company faced constraints from a highly customized legacy MES and siloed systems across multiple plants, which limited standardization, real-time data visibility, asset utilization and its ability to meet evolving compliance and sustainability requirements.
In partnership with Rockwell Automation and Plex, Prometeon implemented a modern digital manufacturing stack—FactoryTalk ProductionCentre with PTC ThingWorx and Plex QMS integrated with ERP/PLM—to harmonize MES/QMS, connect IT/OT and enable real-time insights. The rollout achieved standardized compliance across sites, improved data visibility, increased asset utilization and productivity, reduced scrap and compliance costs, and laid the groundwork for further digital services and automation.
