Precision Coating, a 65+-year-old supplier of advanced surface modification solutions for medical wires, devices, and instruments with sites in the US and Costa Rica, faced growing pains from expansion and acquisitions. The business was running six highly customized systems across three locations plus Excel and paper processes, which created manual reconciliation, poor visibility into KPIs and costs, and limited ability to scale or standardize operations and quality compliance.

After a 15-month evaluation the company implemented the cloud-based Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform (MES, QMS, ERP), rolling it out beginning in 2021–2022 with Plex Professional Services support.
