OWS Foods, a family-run food ingredient and seasoning manufacturer based in Overland Park, KS, grew from a small spice blenders into a multi-facility supplier of dry and wet blended products and several national brands. Rapid product expansion, new wet-manufacturing processes, different raw-material supply chains, and acquisitions (including Head Country Barbeque) created operational complexity and exposed a need for a unified, digitized system to improve production control, predictability, and quality.

OWS deployed an enterprise-wide cloud solution from Plex—including MES, ERP and DemandCaster—to provide lot tracking, batch management, real-time production visibility and supply-chain planning. The system became a single source of truth on the shop floor, enabling better decisions, flexible scheduling and reduced waste. As a result, OWS achieved dramatically improved traceability, higher total production efficiency, faster onboarding of new facilities, lower inventory costs and a stronger ability to meet customer demand.
