HK Metalcraft Moves to Plex for Precision Engineering and Performance Manufacturing

HK Metalcraft is a fourth-generation, family-owned precision metalforming company (founded 1926) in Lodi, New Jersey, that makes precision metal stampings, spring washers and assemblies. The company’s legacy, heavily customized ERP could no longer meet evolving customer demands, created a heavy IT maintenance burden, lacked serialized inventory and traceability, and fostered operator workarounds that increased work-in-process and inefficiency.

HK moved to the Plex Manufacturing Cloud and modernized shop-floor systems—adding serialized inventory, live SPC and digital workcenters and connecting devices for better data capture. The change improved information sharing and traceability, enabled built-in quality checks to meet customer dimension requirements, reduced excess inventory and WIP, improved scheduling and downtime insight, and freed IT to focus on continuous improvement.
