The Knot, a leading wedding planning brand, faced growing customer demand—especially from millennials—for more purposeful, personalized registries that let couples give back. To meet that challenge The Knot partnered with Pledgeling to integrate charity options directly into its registry experience through the The Knot Gifts Back program.

Pledgeling provided the charity search functionality and donation-matching technology that powers The Knot Gifts Back program, enabling couples to include a charity (such as VOW) on their registry and for The Knot to donate up to 3% on qualified purchases at no extra cost. The result: charity gifting on The Knot rose dramatically (233% year‑over‑year from 2016 to 2017) and about one in ten couples incorporated charity gifting in 2017, demonstrating how Pledgeling helped The Knot embed social impact into its product.
