Robin Hood Foundation cuts Salesforce duplicates by 54.9% in 2 weeks with Plauti

The Robin Hood Foundation, a nonprofit organization fighting poverty in New York City, faced a significant data quality challenge within its Salesforce instance. After over a decade of use, its database of more than 220,000 contact and account records was plagued with duplicate entries, which manual processes and Salesforce's native tools could not effectively address. This caused staff confusion and risked the integrity of high-stakes donor and grantee communications. To solve this, the foundation turned to the vendor Plauti for a deduplication solution.

Plauti ran natively inside Salesforce to identify and clean a legacy of duplicates. In a two-week period, the solution identified approximately 2,600 duplicate pairs and merged 54.9% of them, saving an estimated 713 hours of manual work. More importantly, Plauti was embedded into the foundation's custom contact-creation Flow to provide real-time duplicate warnings, preventing new bad data from entering the system. This implementation by Plauti restored staff confidence in their data and created a clean foundation for future AI-powered initiatives.
