Vertafore, a leading provider of technology for the insurance industry with about 1,200 employees across the U.S., Canada and India, faced a highly heterogeneous IT environment after years of acquisitions. The company needed a way to pursue Lean-Agile principles without mandating a single methodology, while bringing consistency to workflow tracking, improving efficiency and speeding product delivery.

Vertafore implemented Planview LeanKit and integrated it with Microsoft Team Foundation Server to give teams transparency and flexibility while eliminating duplicate data entry. LeanKit visualized flow, limited WIP and synchronized TFS work items automatically, boosting productivity and delivery speed—667 active LeanKit cards were synced with TFS in under a year—and helping drive broader Lean-Agile adoption across the organization.
