Premera Blue Cross, the largest health plan in the Pacific Northwest with about 3,200 employees across Washington, Oregon and Alaska, needed a way to surface and collaborate on employee ideas to solve customer pain points. Premera deployed Planview Spigit company‑wide to engage on‑site and remote staff; within six weeks 73% of employees participated, generating more than 400 ideas and nearly 11,000 votes. Using Spigit’s collaboration and scoring tools, leaders prioritized and implemented top concepts—delivering initiatives like comfort boxes for cancer patients, baby boxes for rural births, and efforts to reduce surprise medical bills—while building a sustainable culture and process for ongoing innovation.
