Case Study: ETH Zurich achieves transparent, predictable IT portfolio and resource management with Planview Enterprise (Planview)

ETH Zurich, a world-leading technology and natural sciences university, faced a transparency and efficiency challenge in its Central IT Services: management could not clearly see what IT resources were working on or how funds were allocated, yet the university needed to boost efficiency while keeping resource use steady amid growth.

ETH selected Planview Enterprise for cross-project resource planning and flexible reporting, running a phased rollout (2013–2015) with extensive training and change management and mandatory time reporting from January 1, 2014. Today about 250 IT users rely on the system, giving ETH a transparent view of projects and workloads, systematic task distribution, improved reporting for decision-making, better cost verification, and more predictable planning.
