Ingram Micro Embraces Uncertainty, Modernizing and Scaling Global IT PPM for Business Agility

Ingram Micro, a global technology and supply chain leader with 29,000 employees and $54.5 billion in revenue, used its 2021 acquisition by Platinum Equity as a catalyst to modernize IT ways of working. The central IT PMO needed to standardize language and metrics, break down application silos, align distributed teams and value streams, and increase agility so the business could measure, prioritize and pivot amid ongoing change.

Building on existing Planview usage, the PMO deployed Planview Portfolios, IdeaPlace, Enterprise Architecture and AgilePlace to unify work inventory, request and idea management, system thinking and Agile portfolio reporting. That standardized data model and governance improved cross-team visibility and strategic alignment, accelerated prioritization of investments, and created a more agile, outcomes-focused PMO that supports continuous improvement and ties strategy to measurable results.
