Establishing a Comprehensive, End-to-End Overview of IT Projects

Sofiprotéol is a French agro‑industry group (brands include Lesieur, Puget and Fruit d’Or) that supports vegetable oil and protein production. After a series of acquisitions and with nine subsidiaries, its IT function became fragmented: individual entities ran their own projects, creating uncoordinated global spending, resource conflicts and “under‑the‑radar” projects that disrupted planning and budgets. The new IT leadership needed a centralized, repeatable way to align projects with group strategy and improve oversight.

The company implemented Planview Enterprise (branded internally as SofiProjects) to manage roughly 250 projects, introduce portfolio‑level dashboards, standardized governance committees, and staff training. The solution delivered comprehensive visibility into projects, costs and workloads, reduced ad‑hoc project starts, improved prioritization and completion rates, exposed resource bottlenecks, and enabled better, more transparent decision‑making across the IT portfolio.
