Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU), a Seattle-based member-owned credit union with more than $20 billion in assets and over 2,000 employees across Washington and South Carolina, struggled with siloed teams, manual processes and inconsistent tools that limited visibility into work and hindered collaboration. Agile practices were benefiting software teams but hadn’t spread across the organization, leaving leaders without a single source of truth to prioritize work and drive decisions.
BECU rolled out Planview LeanKit to make all work visible in one place and promote an Agile mindset beyond IT. Adoption grew rapidly—from an initial pilot to nearly 400 licensed users and 175 boards within a year—with departments such as Community Service, Finance and HR replacing manual boards and spreadsheets. The result: real-time transparency, richer cross-team conversations, better prioritization driven by metrics, higher morale, and a stronger foundation for a future DevOps toolchain.
