A Planview Case Study
Aegon, a global life insurance, pensions and asset-management group operating in more than 20 countries, faced a federated IT landscape where independent business units had created siloed application portfolios, duplicating software, driving up costs and creating inconsistent, unreliable data. With limited visibility into what applications existed, who owned them, and where redundancies and technical debt lay, the Global IT Office needed a way to standardize information, reduce risk and demonstrate IT’s business value.
Aegon selected Troux by Planview and aligned all applications to a common ACORD capability model, creating a centralized repository with data-quality checks, ownership workflows and integrations to source systems. The initiative delivered clear global and local views of the application estate, defined application and build types, exposed duplication and rationalization opportunities (including cloud and purchased apps), and gave leaders the real-time insight needed to reduce costs, manage risk and make strategic decisions.
