Unilever, a global consumer goods leader reaching two billion consumers daily across 190 countries, launched the Unilever Foundry in 2014 to accelerate sustainable innovation. When the original Foundry platform proved limited to startups and established partners, the company needed a scalable, transparent way to engage employees, customers and the public and boost ideation and collaboration.
In 2015 Unilever adopted Spigit’s IDEAS crowdsourcing platform to broaden its pool of innovators and manage ideas at scale. The program drove record engagement—tens of thousands of views and thousands of comments and votes on early challenges—surfaced over 500 unique ideas, and brought winning entrepreneurs to London to pitch to executives, helping Unilever co-create practical solutions for a more sustainable future.
