Shaw Industries - Customer Case Study

Shaw Industries, a global flooring manufacturer with 22,000 employees, depends on a 400-person IS organization to support complex manufacturing, supply chain and distribution needs. Its legacy, siloed project and request management tools were cumbersome—users spent up to 1.5 hours per week manually updating projects—and the IS team handled roughly 10,000 requests a year, driving the search for a modern PPM solution.

After evaluating vendors and running POCs, Shaw implemented Clarizen to create the PRISM request-management system. Clarizen simplified intake (29 steps → 5; 9 request types → 3), added mobile real-time visibility and achieved >95% adoption, delivering concrete savings: about 2,500 hours/year on requests, ~1,560 hours/year from automated project updates, and a ~75% reduction in audit time (700+ hours/year).
